Free Therapy

Black Sheep is a show that addresses various childhood traumas and the way they manifest themselves in adulthood. Research shows that Black people in the U.S. are less likely to seek therapy or mental health services compared to their white counterparts, despite experiencing similar or higher rates of mental health issues. Studies suggest that stigma surrounding mental health issues is more prevalent in Black communities where mental health struggles are often seen as a sign of personal weakness rather than a medical condition. Distrust of the healthcare system, stemming from historical experiences of discrimination and systemic racism, also discourages Black people from seeking therapy.

From how to deal with insecurity and struggles with body positivity, to lack of love, the need for validation, the fear of abandonment and even religious oppression, this series will be very intentional about incorporating real free therapy into the writing to help heal our community.

ROI / Equity Structure

Investor and Creator Equity Structure:

    •    Investor Recoup: Investor receives their full $5M back first, before any profit-sharing occurs.

    •    50% Profit Split After Recoup: Once the initial investment is recouped, remaining profits are split between Investor and 303.

Return on Investment (ROI) Strategy:

1.    Streaming Platform Acquisition:

    •    Aim to sell Black Sheep to Netflix, Amazon Prime, or Hulu for $12M - $15M, based on market standards for similar shows.

    •    Platforms are willing to invest heavily in diverse, fresh content, especially with compelling characters and timely social commentary. Netflix, for example, has a growing appetite for original content that appeals to underrepresented demographics, particularly African American audiences. Shows like Dear White People and On My Block have been great successes in this category.

    •    This demand increases the value of shows like Black Sheep, which are primed to cater to both a mainstream and diverse audience, thus supporting the idea of a $12M -$15M sale price.

2.    International Distribution:

    •    Potential additional sales to international markets, particularly in Europe and Africa, where the demand for high-quality, Black-centered content is growing. Estimated additional revenue: $1-2M.

3.    Merchandising and Licensing:

    •    The cultural resonance of the show, combined with a unique comedic-dramedy tone, presents opportunities for licensing deals (clothing, books, and digital content). Our goal is to take the phrase "Black Sheep" and turn it into an empowering declaration! Estimated additional revenue: $500K - $1M.

Investor Return:

    •    Initial Investment: $5M

    •    Projected Revenue from Sale + Ancillary Markets: $15-19M

    •    Investor Profit: $10-14M (100-140% return)

Why Invest in Black Sheep?

    •    Market Demand: Streaming platforms are hungry for original, culturally relevant content that speaks to underserved audiences.

    •    Low Risk, High Reward: With a clear pathway to a Netflix-level sale, paired with a proven track record of successful Black-centered content on the market, Black Sheep is positioned to deliver substantial returns within a relatively short time frame.
